It is known for the ancient temple Jindaiji, and the adjacent Jindai Botanical Park was formerly the domain of the temple. Jindaiji soba (buckwheat noodles), a specialty of the area, has a long history and is mentioned in the Edo Meisho Zue (Illustrated Guide to Famous Places in Edo).
